Abstract

During the last years, some archaeological excavations have been done in two medieval catalan sites, the medieval deserted village of L’Esquerda de Roda, in Osona county, and of Santa Creu de Rodes, in Alt Empordà county. Each one had such different geographic and socioeconomic characteristics, with special items as urbanism, techniques of construction, land’s adaptation, origins and evolution, as well as the probably reasons of their desertion. Both cases of study are compared in this paper, with their similarities and divergences.
